We're looking for a skilled HR Manager to own the thoughtful, consistent and responsible execution of all day-to-day Human Resources and people-related operations at Busby & Fox. Working closely with the Head of People Experience and finance team, this role acts as the essential foundation for HR processes, ensuring the smooth administration of the people lifecycle and providing reliable, confidential support to our team. It'll be your job to add value by:

Delivering HR operational excellence

  • Owning the flawless administration of all HR touchpoints, from contract generation and new-starter logistics for employees, freelancers and consultants, to managing internal changes, record keeping and processing leaver documentation
  • Ensuring all people data is accurate, up-to-date and secure within our HR Information System (HRIS)
  • Acting as the primary liaison with our external HR consultancy to implement legally sound policies and ensure the business mitigates risk.


Supporting management and employee relations

  • Serving as the first point of contact for routine questions about pay, benefits, holiday, absence for illness and so on
  • Acting as the calm, knowledgeable and confidential first port of call for all our people on all routine HR matters, policy interpretation and process navigation, escalating complex employee relations cases when necessary
  • Creating and maintaining clear, easy-to-use administrative toolkits, templates and guides for managers on people management topics (for example, recruitment processes, flexible working requests and absence management) to support clear and confident implementation of company policies across the business, and an efficient and positive experience for all
  • Ensuring people policies are applied confidently, consistently, fairly and transparently across all teams.

 

Executing people processes and projects

  • Managing the administrative rollout, communication and tracking of the company-wide feedback and appraisal processes
  • Handling all logistical aspects of the hiring pipeline, including advertising roles, scheduling interviews, managing candidate communication, offering roles, and processing pre-employment checks and onboarding

Providing project management support for new initiatives led by the Head of People Experience, such as benefit rollouts, training programs or culture events, managing the planning, communication and administrative tasks required for a successful launch.


Enhancing the employee journey

  • Acting as the key point of contact for all new employees on their first day, managing a welcoming and smooth arrival experience
  • Liaising proactively with the Operations and Finance teams to ensure new hires have all necessary equipment, system access and essential information prepared to enable them to start confidently
  • Partnering with hiring managers to produce personalised, well-considered and effective induction plans that ensure a positive experience, balanced immersion into the team, and early relationship building, in line with the company onboarding program
  • Conducting proactive check-ins with new employees throughout their first days and weeks, gathering feedback and ensuring a successful transition into the team
  • Owning the fair, consistent and diligent administration of all benefits and policies (including discount and dress codes), ensuring all employees, freelancers and consultants benefit from clear application across the board.

Strategic partnership and support

  • Acting as the right-hand operational partner to the Head of People Experience, assisting with the implementation and logistical rollout of strategies designed to improve overall employee experience and retention
  • Supporting hiring managers early in the talent acquisition process by providing templates and guidance for the production of clear, compelling hiring briefs and role specifications
  • Proactively monitoring and reporting on key HR data (eg probation completion, retention statistics) to the Head of People Experience to inform Board reporting and strategic decisions.

Planning, forecasting and trading

  • Managing the product lifecycle from initial planning through to final sales
  • Shaping and balancing the range in collaboration with colleagues across design and buying
